Workplace SafetyA New Internal Liaison
Aldric, an employee at Grün Signalisation, has just been certified as a designated occupational safety and health representative by the House of Training. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with our management team to strengthen preventive measures on a daily basis.
A regulatory requirement, a daily challenge
In Luxembourg, the law requires companies to designate one or more employees to be responsible for occupational safety and health, depending on the size of the organization and the identified risks. This requirement, overseen by the House of Training, aims to establish a structured approach to prevention rather than addressing issues on a case-by-case basis. For a company like ours, which combines workshop activities (welding, painting, engraving, etc.) with outdoor work (sign installation, road marking, urban development projects, etc.), the risks are varied and differ depending on the job and the work environment.
A role in monitoring and providing support in-house
Aldric, one of our employees, completed this training and now serves as our designated worker.
Specifically, his role involves observing our practices on the job, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing preventive measures tailored to our various workstations.
- Field observation: regular monitoring to identify risky situations before they turn into incidents.
- Coordination with management: working closely with management to adjust internal procedures as needed.
- Raising awareness among teams: serving as a bridge to employees to embed the right habits into their daily routines.
“Shared safety is paramount in our day-to-day work. At Grün Signalisation, our daily focus is on ensuring a safe and well-thought-out work environment that takes into account the risks associated with our tasks and the work environment.” –Tony Russo, CEO, Grün Signalisation
Investing in skills, ensuring safety
Investing in our employees’ training demonstrates our commitment to doing things right, while strictly ensuring the physical safety of our teams. By valuing internal expertise and safeguarding our employees’ health, we ensure the continued high quality of our work and the professional expertise that have been our strengths since our inception. For us, prevention is essential if we are to continue seriously supporting the development of local infrastructure. Ultimately, how can we envision the public spaces of tomorrow without first ensuring the safety of those who are building them today?
